Kelly Leonard is the Vice President of Creative Strategy, Innovation and Business Development at The Second City. His book, “Yes, And,” was published to critical acclaim by HarperCollins. Kelly has spoken at Aspen Ideas Festival, Microsoft, DDB, TEDx Broadway and has guest lectured at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and The Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. He hosts the podcast “Getting to Yes, And” for WGN Radio. For over twenty years, he oversaw Second City’s live theatrical divisions working with such talent as Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers, Keegan Michael Key and others. He and his wife Anne Libera were awarded the Creative Voice Award in 2019 by Arts Alliance Illinois

On the heels of freedom. The post 4th of July reflection and action. This is in no way a political show, session or commentary. EP 129: The Journey of a Fine Art Restorer & A Vision of Trust: Meet Troy Amuso

Meet Troy Amuso, unstated, sophisticated and a true master of the craft of fine art restoration.
Troy entered the world of art restoration in 1977 working as a studio apprentice in Westchester County, New York, under highly respected Dutch art conservator, Yan Vanderviver. It was that unique opportunity that sparked Troy’s passion in the craft of art conservation, setting him on a path towards an unyielding career as a fine art oil painting conservator. (He spills the beans on the moment he knew this was for him!)
From 1977 to 1995, Troy held studio positions focused on the preservation of fine art in New York, Connecticut, and Los Angeles. It was during those formative years that Troy earned a respected reputation for his conservation work from art collectors, art galleries, and private museums throughout the North East and West Coast.
In 1997 Troy and his wife, Denise DiGrigoli, founded Troy Fine Art Services, an art conservation studio modeled on the philosophy that each client and painting is unique and should receive exceptional personal attention. By maintaining a small studio approach, you can always be assured of who is working on your painting.
As principal conservator, Troy believes that all restorations should be as noninvasive as possible while only performing processes necessary and vital to revive a painting as close to its original state as possible. Troy maintains a strict code of ethics in line with the American Institute for Conservation, and ensures that all work is archival and reversible.

EP 126: Kara Mac: Train Commuter Shoe Maverick Takes On Sustainability

Kara Mac joins Denise DiGrigoli on this episode of Mav's Coffee Clarity to spill the beans on sustainability in the fashion industry. The episode will provide you with a whole new perspective on items you already own!
Kara Mac (Schwartz) studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and spent her professional life as an apparel designer, specializing in knitwear, for labels such as Ralph Lauren and Talbots. As a train commuter, she went through two to three pairs of shoes each day, depending on the occasion. Kara had an idea to reduce footwear’s environmental impact by reusing what one may already have and make it last longer, decreasing the number of shoes dumped in the landfill.
Kara Mac Shoes was launched in 2015. The patented innovation introduces the world’s first shoe line with instant heel to toe customization. It allows users to refashion their shoes from hundreds of different trendy, fun and personalized options.
She has just released a capsule collection of sandals constructed with chromium-free leather and wooden heels. It is the beginning of a project she has held deep in her mind for years. Shoes made with eco-friendly materials that will biodegrade 90% faster than traditional leather footwear.
Kara lives in Mount Kisco NY, with her husband, two sons and two Portuguese Water Dogs.
